Diabetes Alliance Program Plus

parkrun Australia has collaborated on an innovative program in the Hunter and New England Local Health District called the Diabetes Alliance Program Plus.

Specialist teams travel to communities to see patients with diabetes alongside their General Practice team, improving access to specialist knowledge and supporting collaboration between health professionals.

The specialists and GP teams support each other to give people with diabetes the best care available to manage their condition, particularly in rural areas

This pioneering initiative is the latest way that parkrun Australia is working with the health sector to facilitate patient referrals to parkrun.
